Hurricane Irene hits the East Coast
By: Brielle C. Sunday, August 28, 2011
Natural disasters hit, at first a 5.9 earthquake hit Washington and seemed to travel up to Newark, NJ as an aftershock. Followed by a devastating hurricane called 'Hurricane Irene', earlier in the afternoon of Saturday, August 27, 2011, 6 people were reported dead in Virginia alone, due to trees falling on homes and killing innocent human beings.
As it traveled up it hit all of the northern east coast such as all of New York, and
New Jersey. Overnight locations and counties had Tropical Storm warnings, Tornado warnings and Flood watch; Hunterdon County received all of these warnings. Overnight power outages have come whereas first lights flickered on and off, the power was officially off for thousands of homes in the Tri-State area at 4:30 in the morning and still remained off.
However, some internet connections work. By using car battery with AC adapters attached enabling limited service to the internet.
(I will keep you posted for future advantages).
